Playwright Terrence McNally, last in town to see Tyne Daly, John Glover and Jeffrey Carlson perform his trio of opera-themed plays at the Kennedy Center this past April, returns to the area, this time to the tiny Bay Theatre in Annapolis, MD to see their production of his play Lips Together Teeth Apart.
The playwright will attend the matinee performance, Sunday Oct 17th at 3pm and will take questions from the audience after.
The play about two heterosexual couples gathered at a beach house on Fire Island in the mid eighties, was originally scheduled for a Broadway run this season, produced by Roundabout Theatre Company. When that project was postponed, Bay Theatre promptly applied for, and received, producing rights, Artistic Director Janet Luby told us. And then began designing the set, complete with swimming pool.
Lips Together Teeth Apart, directed by Gillian Drake, features Colleen Delaney as Chloe, Britt Herring as John, Nancy Bannon as Sally, and Michael Propster as Sam. Bay Theatre is located at 275 West Street, Lower Level, Annapolis, MD 21401. There is free parking in the lot adjacent to the theatre. For tickets, click here or call (410) 268-1333.
