Westboro Baptist Church, which has won notoriety for picketing the funerals of American soldiers killed overseas, will picket the Richard Montgomery High School production of The Laramie Project, the Frederick, Maryland-based Gazette.Net reports.

According to Gazette.Net, Westboro announced on its website, godhatesfags.com, that it plans to picket between 1:15 and 2pm today (November 13, 2010).
Ironically, The Laramie Project tracks the experience of a group of researchers who visit Laramie, Wyoming, where gay student Matthew Shepard was murdered in one of the nation’s first anti-gay hate crimes, and discover that most of the people in the town are loving and compassionate.
The Westboro Church had previously been in the Washington area to picket Walt Whitman High School because it was named after Walt Whitman, who some believe was gay.
The Laramie Project is being performed by the high school’s club , The Black Masters Drama Club. Tickets to tonight’s 7pm performance are $5 for students over 13, and $13 for adults and are available at https://richardmontgomerydrama.ticketleap.net/.
Our thanks to actor Edward Daniels for bringing this to our attention.
Well, Westboro was a no-show at their own rally. And probably good for them too. The outpouring of support from the community was such that over 100 people showed up to counter-rally including some motorcyclists who had planned to use their motorcycles to drown out the Westboro protest.

The picketers at the Westboro Baptist Church are among the very worst monsters that have been on American soils. May their souls forever rot in hell!
