Last evening, August 6th, Jane Pesci-Townsend passed away, surrounded by family and by a boundless community of students and friends gathered on Facebook. This weekend, we are conducting interviews for a retrospective of her remarkable life which we hope to publish on Monday. Our condolences to all who were touched by this gifted teacher and performer.

About Lorraine Treanor
Lorraine Treanor has been editor of DC Theatre Scene since 2006. She has produced concerts and plays in her hometown of Chicago, and twice in the Capital Fringe festival. Her daughter Nina Norris is an artist working in Chicago. Life's a blast because she shares it with writer Tim Treanor.
The Hinders family wish to extend our condolences to the Townsend family. Jane was such a wonderful professor and
friend to our daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen Hinders Richards and Scott Richards. We were so blessed to have her sing
at their wedding. She was like a second Mom to many at Catholic University.
It was a privilege and honor to know her. May God give you peace and comfort at this difficult time.
