The Creature rules in Landless Theatre’s Frankenstein
Saturday evening was all Halloween and hardware at Landless Theatre Company’s prog-metal production of Frankenstein. In this, the company’s most ambitious show to date, the cast was ably supported by the ghoulishly face-painted band members. The four musicians delivered full-throttle, driving drumbeats and aggressive guitar riffs interwoven with some complex musical motifs associated with the […]
Capital Fringe: Bully
– by guest writer Lee Kaplan – When I found my sixth grade journal, I knew I needed to speak out. In elementary school, I was bullied for — among other things — my love of acting in plays. What I read in my journal were detailed accounts of vicious, relentless attacks that took place […]

Anything Goes at The Kennedy Center
The touring version of Roundabout Theatre Company’s 2011 Tony Award-winning production of Cole Porter’s Anything Goes, which originally premiered on Broadway in 1934, has everything one would expect from a musical comedy of that era – complicated romantic relationships, wacky hijinks and mistaken identities on a ship traversing the Atlantic, a gangster or two, a […]
The Best of Craigslist
One might say that Capital Fringe came a little early to Washington, DC this year. Ambitious emerging theatre company Flying V’s devised work, The Best of Craigslist, is one of those quirky shows that one might expect to see in that yearly theatre festival and it’s a good one, at that. Likely to be a […]
